We are very sorry to inform that, due to the Covid19 emergency and the consequent general uncertainty, we decided it’s more prudent to postpone the ICM Competition Pinerolo e Torino Città Metropolitana to March 2022. The next ICM Competition Pinerolo e Torino Città metropolitana, a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva, will be held in Pinerolo and Turin from 7 to 13 March 2022 (Application by 14/01/2022).

We are preparing to resume on 8 June in-school lessons, while observing all the necessary public health regulations. Nothing can replace the personal rapport between teacher and student, but if the restrictions put in place by national and regional governments to contain the Covid 19 pandemic make it impossible for the Accademia to hold the one-year advanced music courses lessons as normal, the academic year 2020/21 will be held online with an innovative platform, enjoying a much higher sound quality than common videoconference platforms. The masterclasses of the Bardonecchia summer campus are confirmed with Covid-19 Guarantee.

"Like all times of crisis, the Covid emergency too has inspired creativity and community solidarity. Obviously, nothing can replace the personal rapport between teacher and student, but for our one-year advanced music courses, the lessons in distance learning mode are continuing regularly and we are preparing to resume in-school lessons to complete the academic year, while observing all the necessary public health regulations. As regards the Postgraduate Specialist Courses in Music Performance – 3rd cycle, the theory lessons included in the study plans are continuing effectively and we are already preparing a schedule for instrument lessons to be held at our Turin base in Palazzo Cisterna," explains the Accademia’s Director Laura Richaud.
However, in compliance with new government regulations to combat the spread of Covid-19, major changes have been made in the procedures for enrolment for the 2020/21 academic year.
The deadline for applications for the 2020/21 academic year has been postponed to 15 June.
2020/21 ACADEMIC YEAR (violin, viola, cello, piano)
For the safety of students and to avoid group gatherings, the entrance exams will not be held at the Accademia. Candidates will be required to send a video of themselves performing the exam programme. Deadline for sending video material: 15 June.
A commission formed by the Accademia Director and Teachers will review the videos received and will then decide which candidates will be admitted to the school for the 2020/21 academic year. The results of the entrance exams will be comunicated to candidates from 30 June.
FOR STUDENTS RESIDENT OUTSIDE ITALY
In each class we will reserve a certain number of places for students resident abroad who intend to apply for Accademia courses. This is to give them the time to wait for decisions to be made by the various governments on the reopening of national borders and thus to understand when it will be possible for them to travel to Italy to attend lessons. For these students the deadline for sending their application for admission and performance video will be 15 September.
EXAMS FOR VIOLIN VIOLA CELLO
Given the unprecedented nature of the crisis and the difficulties in travelling, for string instruments the performance video programme will consist of pieces for solo strings (solo violin, solo viola, solo cello), 15 minutes in duration. Candidates should include pieces of at least two different styles/periods.
