Since 1994 the Accademia di Musica has organised the International Chamber Music Competition Pinerolo e Torino Città metropolitana, a prestigious chamber music competition that is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva. Every two years outstanding young musicians from all over the world come to perform in Pinerolo and Turin. The ensembles were competing for prizes totalling 23,000 euros.
Due to the Covid19 emergency and the consequent general uncertainty, we have decided on the new competition structure. From this year the competition will carry out preselection by video recording, as follows:
The Jury for the 2023 competition consists of internationally renowned musicians: Lukas Hagen (Austria), violin; Klauss Kaufmann (Germany), piano; Liisa Randalu (Estonia), viola; Joel Hoffmann (USA), composer; Marco Zuccarini (Italia), conductor; Miklós Perényi (Hungary), cello; Gabriele Mirabassi (Italy), clarinet.
In the last competition the jury admitted 6 ensembles to the final, instead of the expected 5, due the exceptionally high level of the competitors. The ensembles were competing for prizes totalling 23,000 euros.
