MUSICA D’ESTATE
SUMMER CAMP OF ADVANCED MUSIC COURSES AND CONCERT PERFORMANCE AT AN ALTITUDE OF 1300 mt.

15 – 30 July 2019 – Bardonecchia

Since 1995 the summer music camp in Bardonecchia has given students the opportunity to be taught by internationally famous musicians in a 15-day residential course offering masterclasses in piano, violin, cello, chamber music and guitar. Students in the courses also perform in public as the camp organises thirty concerts for the people of Bardonecchia.

Every year the camp’s 170 students are given advanced music training thanks to the passion and expertise of the internationally renowned musicians who teach the summer courses: they include  Benedetto Lupo, Roberto Plano, Enrico Pace, Pietro De Maria, Marianne Chen, Gabriele Carcano,  Trio Debussy, Giovanni Doria Miglietta, Filippo Gamba, Aleksandar Madzar, Claudio Pasceri, Adrian Pinzaru, Giovanni Puddu, Marina Scalafiotti, Sonig Tchakerian, Claudio Voghera, Daniela Carapelli and Laura Richaud, who is also the artistic director of the summer programme.

Every year, throughout July, students from the course perform in 30 concerts in Bardonecchia over a month-long programme, attracting more than 7,000 music lovers. Venues include the delightful public garden L’Alveare, the Palazzo delle Feste community centre, the Church of San Ippolito, decorated with wonderful old wood carvings by the valley’s craftsmen, or the streets of historic quarters like Les Arnauds.

The Musica d’Estate summer camp is organised by the Accademia di musica di Pinerolo with financing from the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Regione Piemonte government, the Compagnia di San Paolo foundation, the City of Bardonecchia, Fondazione C.R.T foundation, and with the valuable contribution of Villaggio Campo Smith, Bardonecchia Booking and Harald’s; under the patronage of Città metropolitana di Torino. We have always to thank Piatino Pianoforti and Yamaha Musica Italia for their generosity in providing musical equipment.

*** CONCERTS ***
