Study pathway

Professione Orchestra, the programme designed to train young musicians to work as professional members of an orchestra, is developed through a partnership between the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale of the RAI and the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.

The advanced music course is divided into two parts. The first part involves taking part in one of the following workshops:

Each workshop can be activated with 3 students minimum and will be structured as follows:

  • 4 individual instrument lessons with Professors of Rai Orchestra*
  • rehearsal with the instrument section with Professors of Rai Orchestra
  • seminary “How to deal with stage anxiety?”
  • seminary and lessons of Alexander’s Technique
  • meeting with Professors of Rai Orchestra
  • a final assessment test which will be the simulation of an audition for a place in an orchestra.
*Those enrolled in the clarinet workshop can receive additional lessons (2 of clarinet piccolo and 2 of bass clarinet), those enrolled in the flute workshop can receive 2 additional lessons of piccolo
** This courses will be held at Auditorium Rai in Torino and not at Accademia di Musica.
Requirements

Applications to take part in this project may be made by musicians born from 1996 who hold the following qualifications:

  • Diploma from an Italian Conservatoire (old system);
  • 1st level degree from an Italian Conservatoire;
  • Students inscripted at 2nd level of Italian Conservatoire;
  • 2nd level degree from an Italian Conservatoire;
  • Equivalent qualification issued by a music school from another country.

The commission reserves the right, at its discretion, to accept the student in case of particular talent, even if he does not meet the above requirements. Download the call with regulations (In English asap).

Applying for admission

Applications for the workshops must reach our offices by the admission form (download the to-do-list):

  • Workshop I (21-26/9/2026): by 3 September 2026
  • Workshop II (12-17/10/2026): by 24 September 2026

With the same requirements, the date of submission of the application is considered for choosing the students. Any applications sent after the deadline will be evaluated by the Directors of Studies. Download the call with regulations (In English asap).

We will close for the usual holidays from 3/08/2026 to 31/8/2026. For any request we invite you to write to us at segreteria@accademiadimusica.it. We will get back to you as soon as possible, once the offices reopen on 1 September.

Entrance exam

Candidates will be selected on the basis of a recordings of one or more musical performances (free program). They must send an audio or video link, uploaded on Youtube (10 mins). The links must be provided in the relevant field on the registration form (Download the call with regulations – In English asap). On 8 September and 29 September, the lists of accepted participants for the first and second workshops will be published respectively.

Course fees

Enrolment fee for preselection:
€ 100 (€ 81,97 + IVA 22%)*

Tuition fee:
€ 400 (€ 328 + IVA 22%)*

* PAYMENTS

The enrolment fee is non-refundable. The receipt proving that payment has been effected must be attached to your application to enrol.
The tuition fee is to be paid only after passing the preselection, according to the instructions that will be sent by the secretary’s office.
For both payments, you must send a copy of the receipt to segreteria@accademiadimusica.it (failure to do so will result in exclusion from the workshop).
