Valeria Cordella began playing the piano at the age of 4 using the Yamaha method and graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Lecce under the guidance of Maestro Valeria Vetruccio. In parallel with her piano studies, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Science and Techniques from the University of Salento, with a thesis in Cognitive Sciences focusing on the psychophysiological aspects of smell within the framework of attachment theory and olfactory memory. In 2022, she completed a two-year master’s degree in solo piano at the Conservatory of Parma, studying under the guidance of Maestro Mariangela Vacatello and Maestro Andrea Dembech, with a thesis on the psychoanalytic conception of the aquatic theme in Ravel and Debussy’s works.
During the academic years 2018 and 2019, Valeria attended the annual advanced piano course led by Maestro Pasquale Iannone at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese. She has participated in numerous masterclasses with Maestro Mariangela Vacatello, Maestro Irene Veneziano, Maestro Vsevolod Dvorkin, Maestro Scipione Sangiovanni, Maestro Natalia Trull, Maestro Riccardo Risaliti, Maestro Olaf John Laneri, Maestro Giuseppe Andaloro, and Maestro Anthony Ciaccio. In the 2022/2023 academic year, Valeria attended the annual advanced piano course led by Maestro Cristiano Burato and the chamber music course led by Maestro Sergio Carlo Vecerina at the Accademia di Lugano. In January 2023, Valeria won the first prize at the SWISS International Music Competition in Lugano.
In July 2023, Valeria participated in the Concerto dei talenti dell’Accademia di Lugano with Maestro Graziano Manca, performing music for four hands by Ravel and Rachmaninov. On July 19, Valeria gave a solo recital in Specchia, featuring works by Mozart, Debussy, and Ravel. In August 2023, Valeria took part in PianoLab in Martina Franca, performing as part of a four-hand ensemble, and played for the 3rd edition of Piano City CoRo in the historic center of Rossano, in the province of Cosenza. In September, Valeria performed a solo recital in Seclì, in the province of Lecce, as part of a contemporary art exhibition organized by Matteo Rizzo, and she appeared as a guest at the Piano nel borgo 2.0 event in Grottammare.
Valeria is a pianist specializing in the Yamaha methodology. She completed a training course in piano teaching and holds the necessary teaching credentials with 24 credits. In the 2022-2023 academic year, Valeria took a position as a piano teacher in a middle school with a music program, and in the 2023-2024 academic year, she secured an annual music teaching position in the province of Parma. Currently, Valeria has a chamber music duo with violinist Gabriele Campeggio and a four-hand ensemble with Maestro Andrea Tamburelli. In addition to her piano studies, Valeria continues her education in psychology. She is enrolled in the Neuroscience program at the University Uninettuno and is completing a Master’s degree in Psychology of Music and Music Therapy at the CISAT association in Naples.
In the 2023/2024 academic year, Valeria began the first year of a two-year program in chamber music at the Conservatory of Parma and will attend the annual piano course led by Maestro Leonid Margarius at the Napolinova Association.”
