Francesco Mattia Pellecchia was born in Bari on 25th September 1995. At the age of ten years old, he was admitted to the piano class of N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari under the supervision of Prof. Angela Annese where, in 2016, he graduated with honors.
Over the years he has enriched his artistic training by participating to numerous seminars and concerts such as: L’animo nell’orecchio: l’attimo, la musica, il presente vissuto – Tra Schumann e Debussy, fino ai nostri giorni (2006); Settimana di Musica Antica (2007-2010); Inventions for two voices – Between harpsichord and piano (2008); Nino Rota Integral of chamber music. 6th edition Concerts – Bari Art Gallery (2011); L’ombra illuminata (2017), Vieri Tosatti Study days at Piccinni Conservatory Bari (2016).
He also attended various masterclasses both in Italy and France held by Antonio Pompa Baldi (Todi International music masters, 2018), Roberto Corlianò, Michele Marvulli, Riccardo Risaliti, Bruno Canino, Roberto Cappello, Giovanna Valente and Bruno Rigutto.
He won the 1st Prize at the 12th Euterpe City of Corato International Music Competition; 1st category Absolute Prize at the XIII National Young Musicians Competition (Giovinazzo, 2009), at the Città di Valentino International Music Competition (Castellaneta, 2010), at the I Colori dell’arte competition (Bari, 2011); the 1st prize in Napolinova International Piano Competition (Naples, 2019); 1st prize at the 5th Diapason d’Oro Competition (Pordenone, 2019), 1st prize at the Domenico Savino International music competition (Taranto, 2021).
In 2018, he graduated with honors in Modern Literature at the University of Bari Aldo Moro. He currently attends his master’s degrees in Musicology and Musical Heritage at the University of Pavia.
