Alessandra Maglie
Biography

Born in Poggiardo (Lecce, Italy) in 1993, she started to play the violin at the age of eight under the guidance of  Armando Ciardo.

In 2006 she was admitted to the old system violin course in Lecce Conservatory of music where she studied with Francesco Sabato.

In 2011 she attended a conservatory masterclass given by E.Gatti in Lecce.

In 2016 she received her Music Diploma in Lecce with a mark of 10/10.

In the same year she obtained a Degree in Foreing Languages:Translation and Interpretation.

During her studies, she stood out in several competitons such as: Concorso Internazionale Musicale La Vallonea of Tricase (2010, I premio Cat. C1, Solisti – Violino; 2011, I premio Cat. B, Solisti – Violino; 2012, I premio Cat. D1, Solisti – Violino; 2015, I premio Cat. F, Solisti – Violino; 2019, I premio Cat. G, Solisti – Violino), Musica reservata di Taurisano(2010, I premio Cat. C, Solisti – Violino), Concorso Internazionale Città di Leuca (2009, I premio Cat. C, Solisti – Violino e II premio Cat. O, Musica da Camera – 4 Violini; 2017, I premio Sez. Senior, Solisti – Violino; 2018, I premio Sez. Senior, Solisti – Violino), Concorso G. Tricarico (2015, I premio Cat. 1, Musica da Camera – Trio Violino, Violoncello e Pianoforte; 2019, I premio Cat. G, Solisti – Violino ), Concorso Premio “M.o Donato Russo” (2016, I premio Cat. C, Solisti – Violino).

She regularly collaborates with Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce e del Salento where she initially started under M.o L. Shambadal.

In 2015 she was selected for Orchestra Nazionale dei Conservatori Italiani as 1 violin (tutti) where she became principal second violin in 2016.

In 2017 she auditioned for Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in Fiesole (FI) and obtained the role as violin tutti; on the podium: D. Gatti, Z. Xian, F. Pasqualetti, G. Pretto, D. Rustioni, P. Auguin, M. Pascal, J. Axelrod, E. Bosso with special guest soloist such as A. Tifu, M. Barenboim, R. Cominati.

For the chamber music, she performed as principal second violin of the chamber ensamble in Pulcinella by Igor Stravinsky and in La Cuisine Fantasque by Rossini/D’Ambrosio.

In 2013 she performed all of the 4 Concertos fo Four Violins by Georg Philipp Telemann.

In 2015, under the guidance M.o Francesco Libetta, she was invited to perform a piano trio repertoire for the Lions Club of Lecce.

As a soloist, she performed the Concert in D Minor RV 565 by Antonio Vivaldi and the Concert in F Major for three Violins and Orchestra by Georg Philipp Telemann.

She joined different masterclasses given by professors and soloists. Some of them are: E. Gatti, C. Bacci, S. Lamberto, P. Camicia, M. P. Salom, G. Demertzis, F. Mezzena, M. Masaki, L. Hall, S. Tchakerian.

In 2018 she is admitted to Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo (TO), where she currently studies, in the class of Professors Dora Schwarzberg and Lucia Hall.

In 2019 she joined the orchestral course given by Alessandro Milani.

Recently she has obtained the role as a violin tutti in Orchestra Filarmonica del Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Bergamo e Brescia, Orchestra Filarmonica della Campania and Orchestra Sinfonica del Conservatorio di Foggia U. Giordano.
