Alessandro Milani graduated at the Turin Verdi Conservatory with full marks and went on study with Salvatore Accardo at the Walter Stauffer Accademy Cremona. For two years he played with the former European community Youth Orchestra (ECYO) and from 1995 has served as first violin with the RAI National Synphony Orchestra. He has also played with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome, and the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala Milan; working under conductor including Riccardo Chailly, Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Giuseppè Sinopoli, Sir Antonio Pappano, Valery Gergiev, Carlo Maria Giulini, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Lorin Maazel and many others. His many recordings include Elgar’s Violin Concerto underJeffrey Tate. He plays a Francesco Gobetti 1711 violin, generously lent by the Milan Pro Canale Foundation.
