Vito Alessio Calianno was born in Monopoli in 2005. He is currently enrolled in the 3rd year of the Triennium of piano under the guidance of Mr. Roberto Bollea, and Is graduated in scientific High School in Fasano, the city where he resides. Among the various prizes won in piano competitions, the most recent are: the 1st position at the Pietro Argento Competition in
Gioia del Colle playing Beethoven “Hammerklavier” Sonata, the 2nd prize at the International Competition “City of Albenga”, the 2nd prize at the prestigious “Euregio Piano Awards” in Germany, the 3rd Prize at the prestigious “Enrico Galletta Prize” in Livorno, in August 2021 and in 2022 and 2023 he won a concert prize and a scholarship from the “LAMS” competition in Matera, for the pianistic performance category and for Chamber Music, he also participated in May 2022 at the Orbetello Piano Competition and he was invited to Krakow by Andrzej Pikul, member of the jury. At the end of May 2022 he took part at the final of the Chamber Music Competition “Premio Nazionale delle Arti” in duo with saxophonist Christian Summa, receiving an honorable mention for the quality of the performance. He also participated in several masterclasses with Daniel Rivera, Pierluigi Camicia, Paola Bruni, Erling Eriksen, Ralf Nattkemper and Roberto Plano. He also attended the masterclasses held by Roberto Bollea at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and for the Umbria Classica Association. He also attended some recitals in San Domenico Auditorium in Foligno.
Recently he played with the Nino Rota Conservatory Symphony Orchestra the Second Piano Concerto Op. 22 by Saint-Saëns and the Fifth Piano Concerto Op. 73 by Beethoven.
