Born in Gorizia into a musical family, Alexander Gadjiev combines natural instinct with superb technique. A polyglot, he is the cultural ambassador for “Gorizia-Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture 2025” and a Prešeren Award winner. He also serves as the artistic director of the cross-border festival “Prečkanja – Sconfinamenti”. His top accolades include 2nd prize at the Warsaw Chopin Competition and 1st prize in Sydney, Hamamatsu, and Monte Carlo. A former “BBC New Generation Artist”, he also won the Terence Judd Award and held prestigious artistic residencies. He has performed with conductors like Zubin Mehta and in legendary venues such as the Musikverein in Vienna. Trained in Salzburg and Berlin, he won the Premio Venezia in 2013 following a precocious musical debut. He regularly performs across Europe, Asia, the USA, and Australia at the world’s most renowned festivals. As a soloist, he collaborates with international orchestras, including the RAI, the NHK, and the SWR Stuttgart. He has released several acclaimed recordings (Decca, Outhere Music), with major new concert season debuts lined up for 2026.
