>> CAdMO – DIGI ORCHESTRA
A major new feature of the International Summer Music Festival Musica d’Estate, which will take place from 16 to 30 July 2026 in Bardonecchia (Turin), in the heart of the Alps, are the CAdMO – Digi Orchestra workshops organised by MDE OFF.
The Computer Aided Digital Music Orchestra is an innovative solution for music education and production, capable of combining technology with artistic performance. It enables solo musicians to practise or perform with a virtual orchestra that adapts to their performance, using individual recordings of each instrument, most of which were made by students on the Accademia di Musica’s advanced training courses.
Students on the Musica d’Estate advanced masterclasses who wish to take part in the workshops:
- will have the opportunity, through an information session, to gain an in-depth understanding of how CAdMO works;
- during the workshop session, working in pairs, they will be able to try their hand at both the role of soloist and that of conductor of the Digi Orchestra. They will be able to experience how, thanks to this patented system, the dynamics and agogics of the orchestral accompaniment can be adjusted, and also how this can be done in real time during the performance, adapting it to the soloist’s interpretation.
CAdMO – Computer Aided Digital Music Orchestra is a patented system developed by the Fondazione Accademia di Musica and the cellist and composer Marco Robino, who will be leading the workshop at Musica d’Estate alongside Andrea Mancini. Dates and details will be announced at a later date to all those registered for the masterclasses.
