A Light Course is a short course scheduled during the academic year and it consists of 8 lessons of 1 hour divided into 4 teaching sessions distributed over the year (December/ June). Dates of lessons for the Academic Year 2023/2024 will be published in November 2023.
The annual study plan includes in-depth study of the repertoire for flute in all its facets: orchestra excerpts, development of technique, soloist’s repertoire for flute solo and with orchestra, chamber music with strings, winds and voice. In order to expand the artistic experience of the young flautist to the maximum, our teacher will involve the student in performance in ensembles with other instruments: concertos with orchestra, the great sonatas with piano and with harpsichord, duo with harp and with guitar, quartet with strings and quintet with winds. Where requested, the teacher will work with the student on an agreed study programme with a view to preparing for competitions and auditions.
At the end of the Academic Year, a final concert is foreseen.
Candidates admitted to the Light Course are considered internal students of the Accademia and are entitled to all the associated privileges (free admission to all concerts of the Concert Season, the opportunity to perform in the concerts organised by Accademia included those with the Chamber Orchestra of the Accademia, opportunity to be recommended by the Accademia to other concert organisers, as well as free use of the concert hall to make recordings).
The course is dedicated to flutists, both graduates and not. Age limit: to apply for admission candidates must be no older than 30.
