The advanced course in clarinet taught by Enrico Maria Baroni and Luca Milani, has a minimum duration of three years.
The teacher and the student will together decide on the repertoire for the course, the student’s participation in competitions and concerts, and the scheduling of their Accademia exams.
The annual study plan includes in-depth study of the repertoire for clarinet. Where requested, the teacher will work with the student on an agreed study programme with a view to preparing for competitions and auditions.
The student is entitled to two lessons per month, for eight months, from October to May. Nothing can replace the personal rapport between teacher and student, but if the restrictions put in place by national and regional governments to contain the Covid 19 pandemic make it impossible for the Accademia to hold the one-year advanced music courses lessons as normal, the academic year 2022/23 will be held online with an innovative platform, enjoying a much higher sound quality than common videoconference platforms.
At the end of the course each student will take an exam to assess whether they can be awarded a Diploma or Master’s Diploma. Students who achieve a Master’s Diploma are then eligible to apply for a scholarship for the following academic year.
To apply for admission candidates must be no older than 33, in possession of a Conservatorio Diploma (old system), a Level 1 or Level 2 degree or equivalent qualification from a country other than Italy. The commission reserves the right to accept any student who shows exceptional talent, even though they do not meet the above-mentioned requirements.
Applications for Academic Year 2022/2023 must reach our offices by 27 September 2022.
The admission exams will take place in presence on October 12th, 2022.
If the pandemic evolution and the future rules make impossible for the Accademia to hold the exams in presence, the selections will take place by sending a video containing the required programme.
Students resident outside Italy, who want to make the entrance exam to the courses of the Accademia, can choose to make the exam in presence or sending a performance video; in this last case the video must be sent together with the application form.
The entrance exam will consist of the performance of this programme:
Claude Debussy, Première Rhapsodie per clarinetto e pianoforte
