The Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo offers multiple opportunities for scholarships for advanced music training, made possible by the generosity of our partners and supporters.
First and foremost are up to 25 scholarships awarded annually as part of the Open Source project, made possible by the contribution of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo foundation and the Regione Piemonte. Then we have a special arrangement with the Conservatorio di Torino, whereby their students can follow the Accademia’s courses of advanced music training (after passing the requisite entrance exam) completely free of charge. They can complete our courses in parallel with their studies at the Conservatorio, and will be awarded CFU university credits recognised by the Conservatorio.
Professione Orchestra is the project for on-the-job orchestra training set up by Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo in collaboration with the RAI Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale. Every year up to 10 one-year scholarships are awarded to the best students in the 2 workshops, selected by the Artistic Committee. These students will then take part in a one-year course that will be completely free of charge as guaranteed by the scholarship. This course will consist of one instrument lesson per month for 4 months taught by a RAI section leader; participation in the orchestra rehearsals for 4 concerts in the RAI season; 4 chamber music lessons held in Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo taught by the section leaders from the RAI Orchestra Sinfonica; for the chamber music ensembles, one concert insert in the Concert Season of OSN Rai and another in the Concert Season of the Accademia di Musica.
A lot of scholarships are awarded thanks to contributions from the Accademia di Musica for Postgraduate Specialist Courses in Music Performance – 3rd cycle. Bursaries are awarded on merit, which is assessed through the quality of the audition performance, the CV/resumé presented and by the results of the personal interview. All decisions regarding the awarding of bursaries are completely at the discretion of the management of the Accademia di Musica, in consultation with the President and the Board of Directors, as well as on the assessment of the student’s merits provided by the teaching staff of the School of Postgraduate Specialisation and the panel of examiners conducting the entrance exams.

Thanks to the donations from private individuals only, the Fondazione Accademia di Musica for the 2023/2024 academic year has provided €40,000 in scholarships, thus confirming the commitment of private donors, subscribers and companies in supporting activities aimed at developing young musicians and the territory.
Accademia di Musica has established 3 scholarships for a chamber music masterclass by teachers from the Juilliard School in New York, one of the most prestigious performing arts schools in the world.
