Simone Losappio
Biography

Born in Andria in 1998, he began studying the piano under the guidance of his mother. He continued his studies with Prof. Maria Teresa Somma and Maestro M. Matarrese at the Conservatorio N. Piccinni in Bari, where he graduated in Piano in 2017.

Over the years, he has participated in various national and international competitions, always placing among the top ranks. Among these, the following should be mentioned: “I. Strawinsky” in Valenzano, “Città di Barletta,” “Città di San Gemini,” “Città di Rocchetta Volturno,” “Città di Castellana Grotte,” “Euterpe” in Corato, “Città di Casamassima,” “Giulio Rospigliosi,” “Città di Guardiagrele,” “San Giovanni Teatino,” “Mozart” in Rome (international), “Festivalarte” in Andria, “Pietro Argento” in Gioia del Colle (international), “Città di Camerino,” “Eurorchestra” in Bari, “Baldi” in Bologna, “Premio Musica Italia” in Barletta, where he also received the special prize “Solista d’Italia,” and “Premio Mozart” in Barletta, as the youngest contestant; First Absolute Prize at the national competition in Magliano Sabina; First Absolute Prize and “Best Pianist” across all categories at the International Tartini Competition in Piran (Slovenia); finalist at the Maria Herrero International Competition in Granada, Spain; semifinalist at the International Competition “Città di Cantù,” where he performed Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto; First Prize at the International Competition in Barletta, where he also received the Special Prize for “Virtuosity,” despite competing in a higher category than his own; Second Prize at the Campochiaro International Competition in Catania; he performed in Bari during the “Beethoven Piano Festival,” playing in the complete Beethoven cycle organized by the Conservatorio N. Piccinni; he participated in PianoCity Naples performing Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto for piano and orchestra.

He also attended several masterclasses held by renowned teachers such as M.T. Somma, E. Sarno, F. Thiollier, B. Canino, R. Cappello, M. Marvulli, D. Rivera, F. Viani, F. Antonicelli, A. Kobrin; he was awarded a scholarship to attend the advanced course held by Maestro L. Zilberstein at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, where he participated in 2017 and 2018, and took part in the advanced course at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo in 2025 with Prof. L. Zilberstein.

He has been a guest three times at the Farinelli International Festival in Andria, organized by Maestro Nicola Frisardi.

He regularly performs in concerts and has also played in Bisceglie as a soloist with the orchestra “La Bottega dell’Armonia,” conducted by Maestro Bepy Speranza, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (K. 467), receiving praise from both the audience and critics.

He attended the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), where he earned a degree in Konzertfach Klavier (Master Performance) in January 2022, in the class of Maestro Lilja Zilberstein.

Since September 2023, he has been enrolled at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, where he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Instrumental Pedagogy in the class of Maestro Mauro Harsch.
