Gianluca Faragli
Biography

Gianluca Faragli graduated in piano with honors, honors and honorable mention at the N. Paganini Conservatory in Genoa. He continued his studies with Maria Grazia Bellocchio at the G. Donizetti Conservatory of Bergamo, where he obtained a second level academic diploma in solo piano with honors.  He is currently attending the high piano specialization course at the Academy of Music of Pinerolo in the class of Enrico Pace.

Winner of the Laudisi-Ponte and Giuseppe Ponta scholarships at the N. Paganini Conservatory in Genoa.

He has enriched his training by participating in several masterclasses in Italy and abroad and in the High Specialization Courses held by M. G. Bellocchio (CFYP Mauricio Kagel 2019 – Salvatore Sciarrino 2022) at the Contemporary Music Hub Milan.

He has participated in several national and international piano competitions, always ranking at the top.

Among these are some of the first prizes and first prizes: European Music Competition Città di Moncalieri14th International Piano Competition City of Castiglion Fiorentino;  7th International Music Festival F. Mendelssohn; 22nd International Competition for Musical Interpretation Franz Schubert AwardVI Clara Wieck Schumann International Music Performance Competition 2019; X International Music Competition Premio Crescendo Città di Firenze following which he performed in the Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio in Florence;  International Music Competition “Paris and London” Grand Prize Virtuoso 2020; National Piano Competition A.Gi.Mus. City of Francavilla Fontana;  17th National Piano Performance Competition “Città di Bucchianico”.

He has played as a soloist in Italy and abroad with the Orchestras: Junior Classica of Alessandria, Ligeia of Sanremo, “Mihail Jora” of Bacau, “Amici del Pianoforte” of Cosenza and Classica of Alessandria collaborating with prestigious conductors including Gudni Emilsson, Daniele Camiz and Arman Azemoon.

He regularly gives piano recitals and concerts in chamber ensembles both in Italy and abroad in prestigious festivals. He performed the Concerto op. 19 by Beethoven in Lachner’s transcription for piano and string quintet at the Teatro Sociale in Camogli.

He has played as a soloist in the Biellese Youth Festival and the Alba Music Festival.

In 2018 he was selected to participate in concerts entitled “The festival speaks Russian. Tchaikovsky, mon amour! ” organized by the Conservatory of Bergamo in collaboration with the International Piano Festival of Brescia and Bergamo in the Sala Fellegara of Bergamo.

He performed at the Milano PianoCity 2018 and 2019 event respectively at the Feltrinelli Foundation and at the Fonderie Napoleoniche.

He premiered compositions by Mattia Clera, Stefano Teani and Carlo Maria Barracano.

He played in Unna (DE) on the occasion of the opening concert of the Festival dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven both as a soloist and in a cello duo formation.

He participated in the performance of the complete piano and chamber music of M. Kagel playing “Zweites Trio in einem Satz” for violin, cello and piano in Milan at the Museo del Novecento, as part of the Rondo 2019 event organized by the Divertimento Ensemble Association, and in Bologna at the Oratorio San Filippo Neri, for the fourth edition of the Bologna Modern Festival organized by the Musica Insieme Association.

He played for the “Paganini Genova Festival” both as a soloist, at the Palazzo Ducale, and in Duo Violin-Piano, at the Museo dell’Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti.

He is currently working on a recording project on the piano music of composer Ferdinand Ries with the label BrilliantClassics.

Former piano teacher at the State Middle School “G. Boccardo” in Novi Ligure and at the Saluzzo-Plana Music High School in Alessandria.

From November 2020 to today he is professor of piano at the G. Donizetti Conservatory of Bergamo.

He was awarded the Luciano Delucca 2021 Solidarity Award for the charitable activity carried out in favor of LILT.

He is president of the Associazione Musica&Cultura Pentagramma and artistic director of the Festival Settimane Musicali Internazionali and of the Oltregiogo Piano Competition, respectively at the 8th and 1st edition in 2022.
