Claudia Notarstefano
Biography

Claudia Notarstefano, born in Taranto in 2002, undertakes the academic study of the cello at the age of 10 at the Conservatory of Music “N. Rota” of Monopoli. From a very young age, she has carried out concert activities, both in chamber and orchestral formations, playing the role of first cello also on prestigious occasions. She has participated in several national and international competitions, both as a soloist and in chamber formations, winning the first prize. In 2018, after having brilliantly passed the audition at the national level, she has joined the National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories (ONCI) and, with it, performed in prestigious contexts, such as the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” Theatre in Florence, the “Auditorium Parco della Musica” in Rome, the Auditorium “Renzo Piano” in L’Aquila and the Stara Zagora’s Opera Theatre (Bulgaria), under the guidance of renowned Orchestra Directors. In 2020 she has moved to the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Milan, in the class of M° Matteo Ronchini. In the same year she has passed the audition and joined the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory of Milan (OSCoM), in which she has held the role of “first cello”, permanently directed by M ° Pietro Mianiti (musical director of the Teatro alla Scala Academy) as well as by the Masters Fabio Luisi, Alessandro Cadario and Vitali Aleksenook. With this team she has collaborated with artists like Fabrizio Meloni, Trio di Parma, Emmanuel Pahud and Alexander Malofeev. In addition, she has participated in the recording of the integral of J. Brahms’ symphonies and the “Eroic” symphony by L.v. Beethoven. In October 2022 she successfully passed the audition at the “Teatro alla Scala” Academy in Milan for the two-year period 2022/2024. In July 2023 she was eligible for the audition at the Youth Orchestra “L. Cherubini”, conducted by M° Riccardo Muti. With this Orchestra, she has played in prestigious theatres and concert halls such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Prada Foundation in Milan (Italian Opera Academy), playing alongside artists like Daniel Ottensamer, Giuseppe Gibboni and Giovanni Sollima. Some of these events were broadcasted by Rai in world vision and Eurovision such as the concert on the occasion of the Puccini celebrations in Lucca and the concert for “le Vie dell’Amicizia” in Ravenna and Lampedusa. She has attended the masterclasses held by illustrious masters such as Massimo Polidori, Mario Brunello, Enrico Bronzi, Enrico Dindo, Giovanni Gnocchi, Helmar Stiehler, the Jerusalem Quartet and she has attended an annual master course under the guidance of M° Kyrill Zlotnikov, cellist of the Jerusalem Quartet. She has obtained the Bachelor and Master degree in Violoncello, with full marks, at Milan’s “G. Verdi” Conservatory and the Master in Chamber Music, cum laude, at Taranto “G. Paisiello” Conservatory. She is currently attending a third-level Master’s degree with Mº Miriam Prandi at the “Accademia del Ridotto” in Stradella, Italy.

She is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
