Andrea Canino
Biography

Andrea Canino began studying the piano under the guidance of Massimiliano Baggio. In 2014, he was admitted to the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” of Milan, where he studied with Francesco Conti, Adalberto Riva, Aurora Punzo, and Pietro Soraci. In 2018, he joined the piano class of Alessandro de Curtis, under whose guidance he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance and is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Piano Performance.

He obtained his First-Level Academic Diploma in Piano Performance with 110 cum laude.

After graduating at the Liceo Classico “Bartolomeo Zucchi” in Monza, he also earned a degree in Literature from the University of Milan.

In 2022 and 2025, he was a finalist in the Conservatorio’s Piano Competition in the category “Soloists – Keyboard and Percussion Instruments.” In 2024, he distinguished himself at the International Competition ‘Città di Alessandria’, winning the First Absolute Prize in the “Solo Pianists” category and the First Absolute Prize in the “Piano Four Hands” category. In 2025, he was awarded Third Prize at the Villafranca International Piano Competition.

He has performed in numerous concerts, both in the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” of Milan – including “Laboratorio Goldberg”, “Momenti Musicali”, “PianoTime”, “Chiostro 2022”, BookCity Milano, “ChamberMusicTime”, and Piano City Milano – and at other venues, including “A Journey to Warsaw” in Cuvio, “A Piano at the Museum” at the National Museum of Science and Technology “Leonardo da Vinci”, and “A Piano Among the Stars” at the Planetarium of Milan. Noteworthy are the two recitals he gave in Geneva at the Temple de Carouge: in 2024, as part of the concert season “Une Chambre en Harmonie” organized by the Compagnie Esperluette, and in 2025, as part of the season “Piments d’Esperluette op. 1. Symposium musical” organized by the same company. He also performed a recital in Valenza for the A.M.I. Associazione Mozart Italia as part of the concert season “Valenza Classica 2025”. In addition, he has performed in concert in Vedano at the Sala della Cultura and in Cologno Monzese at the Chiesa Antica dei Ss. Marco e Gregorio. In 2026, he has the opportunity to perform once again in Geneva at the Temple de Carouge as part of the concert season “Résonances Estivales” organized by the Compagnie Esperluette.

In 2026, he performs as a soloist with the Youth Orchestra of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan under the baton of Maestro Daniele Giulio Moles.

As a pianist, he has taken part in numerous workshops and seminars and has attended several piano masterclasses at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan, including those held by Anna Kravtchenko, Yaron Rosenthal, Claus-Christian Schuster, and Schaghajegh Nosrati.

He has been student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2026.
