A Light Course in piano taught by Benedetto Lupo is a short course scheduled during the academic year and it consists of 6 lessons of one and a half hours divided into 3 teaching sessions distributed over the year between October/November and May/June. Dates of lessons for the Academic Year will be published in October.
The course is dedicated to pianists who wish to improve their skills: the main objectives of the course are the extension of the repertoire and the preparation for concert engagements and international competitions.
The course is dedicated to pianists, both graduates and not. Age limit: to apply for admission candidates must be no older than 30. The course is open to students enrolled in the Accademia as well as to external students. Students attending annual academic courses may also enroll in the Light Course.
M° Benedetto Lupo’s Light Course is not open to auditors.
Applications for the Academic Year 2026/27 must reach our offices by 30 September 2026. With the same requirements, the date of submission of the application is considered for choosing the students. Any applications sent after the deadline will be evaluated by the Directors of Studies.
Entrance exams for 2026/2027 will be held on October 2026.
The selection takes place in two phases:
- together with their application form, candidates must send a CV and a video file with free program, made no earlier than 2024. The Artistic Director and M° Lupo will assess the materials submitted and will make a list of candidates, who will be called for an audition at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo.
- audition by invitation. Admission exam program: three major compositions for piano of different styles, including a movement of Classical Sonata.
At the end of admission exams, results will be communicated; the students NOT admitted to the light course will have the right to a talk with M° Lupo, to analyze their performance and receive suggestions and advice from the teacher. These talks will take place in the same day of exams.
ENROLMENT FEE*:
- Enrolment fee for preselection: € 30 | The enrolment fee must be paid annually. It is non-refundable. The receipt proving that payment has been effected must be attached to your application to enrol. In case a student wants to attend more than one advanced course, the enrolment fee is to be paid only once in a year.
- Enrolment fee for live audition: € 30 | It is to be paid only after passing the preselection, according to the instructions that will be sent by the secretary’s office.
- Enrolment fee for students admitted (supplement): € 40
- In the event of direct admission to the Light Course, must be paid a fee upon receipt of the admission result: € 70

€ 1000 (€ 819,67 + IVA 22%)
The tuition fee annual attendance fee is to be paid only after passing the entrance exam, according to the instructions that will be sent by the secretary’s office.
