Tommaso Ludovico Grassi was born in Reggio Emilia in 2004 into a family of musicians. He received his first piano lessons at the age of six at the European Music Institute (ISME) in Milan with Professor Giulietta Capriotti. He studied there until the age of 11, when he was admitted to the “G. Verdi” Conservatory, where he studied under Professor Cristina Frosini, Professor Anna Abbate, and currently with Professor Alfonso Chielli. Since 2016, he has attended summer ensemble music courses with Professor Silvia Cattaneo at the “Suoni d’Abruzzo” International Festival, performing as a soloist and in various chamber groups in several locations across the region. In 2016, he was chosen by the Milan Conservatory to participate in a Bach masterclass led by pianist Ramin Bahrami. He has performed several times in the “Sala Puccini” of the Milan Conservatory, in the “G. Gaber” auditorium at the Pirelli Tower in 2014, at the “Palazzina Liberty” in Milan in 2016, and at the “Setti Carraro” school in 2019 and 2020. He also performed for the “PianoCity” festival in 2019, at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, and for the “Ticino Musica” festival. Admitted to the Conservatory’s academic courses, in 2023 he graduated from the “Setti Carraro” high school in Milan with a classical high school diploma. In 2024, he attended a workshop on the music of Kurtág under the guidance of Maria Grazia Bellocchio. He also placed 2nd at the “Concours Suisse de Musique pour la Jeunesse” (Entrada, Classica).
He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
