Born in Turin, in October 2001, Alessandro Vaccarino began studying piano at the age of seven.
He entered the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Turin, where he studied with Prof. Carapelli, and under the guidance of Maestro Giacomo Fuga obtained his Master’s Degree in Piano Performance (Diploma Accademico di 2° Livello) with highest honors.
In 2025 he was awarded a De Sono scholarship, thanks to which he is pursuing the Master of Arts in Musikalischer Performance with Maestro Filippo Gamba at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel. There, he also works with Anton Kernjak, Edoardo Torbianelli, and Claudio Martinez Mehner. At the same time, he attends the advanced piano course with Maestro Enrico Pace at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo.
From his early years at the Conservatory he cultivated a strong interest in chamber music, performing in various ensembles: from duos to piano quintet. Since 2021 he has been pianist of the Quintetto Dedalo, with which he has been admitted since 2023 to the Stauffer Artist Program in Chamber Music and, since 2024, participated in the Chigiana Summer Academy (both under Maestro Bruno Giuranna). In 2024 the ensemble was selected by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena as part of the project Giovani Talenti Musicali Italiani nel Mondo (“Young Italian Musical Talents in the World”), an initiative organized in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and CIDIM (National Italian Music Committee).
He has attended numerous masterclasses with distinguished artists including Pavel Gililov, Claus Christian Schuster, Bruno Canino, Andrea Lucchesini, Michel Béroff (Académie d’été de Nice), Ricardo Castro, Wu Han, and David Finckel.
Alessandro Vaccarino has won several prizes in both national and international competitions, among them: 1st Absolute Prize, European Music Competition (Moncalieri), 1st Absolute Prize, CMF Competition (Paris), 1st Prize, ISCART Competition (Lugano, 2021 – online), 2nd Prize, Washington American International Music Talent Competition (2021 – online, 1st prize not awarded).
He performs regularly both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. He has appeared in concert series such as Serate Musicali del Conservatorio and Mozart Nacht und Tag. He has given numerous solo recitals for festivals and seasons including Estate Reale (Conservatorio di Torino – Musei Reali), Pianoforte Urbano (Fondazione Contrada), Piano Live, Liguria in Musica, Musica d’Estate (Accademia di Pinerolo – Bardonecchia), Spazio Classica (Acqui Terme), and for Camerata Ducale in Vercelli.
In collaboration with violinist Janine Bratu, with whom he has often performed in recital for Piano Live and Viotti Tea (Camerata Ducale, Vercelli), he was invited in 2023 to represent the Conservatorio di Torino in a live broadcast on Rai Radio 3 within the program Voci in Barcaccia.
With the Quintetto Dedalo he performs both in Italy and abroad. In 2023 the ensemble gave two concerts in Germany, at the Emil Schumacher Museum in Hagen and at Hof Bellevue in Unna. In the 2024/25 season they have appeared for institutions including Unione Musicale (Turin), Filarmonica di Trento, Monza Music Meetings, Amici dell’Orchestra Sinfonica della RAI, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti (Rome), CONTRAMETRIC Ensemble, and Musica con Vista (Urbino).
He is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
