Alessandro Vaccarino
Biography

Born in October 2001, Alessandro Vaccarino began studying the piano at the age of seven. He earned his Second-Level Academic Diploma with highest honors and distinction at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of Turin, under the guidance of Maestro Giacomo Fuga. With the support of the De Sono Foundation, he continues his studies with Maestro Filippo Gamba at the Hochschule für Musik Basel. At the same time, he attends the advanced specialization course held by Maestro Enrico Pace at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo. From the beginning of his conservatory studies, he also devoted himself to chamber music in various formations. Since 2021 he has been the pianist of the Dedalo Quintet, with which he has attended the Accademia Stauffer since 2023 under the guidance of Maestro Bruno Giuranna, and since 2024 the Chigiana Summer Academy.  In 2024 the ensemble was selected by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena as part of the project Giovani Talenti Musicali Italiani nel Mondo (“Young Italian Musical Talents in the World”), an initiative organized in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and CIDIM (National Italian MusicmCommittee). With the Dedalo Quintet, he performs regularly in Italy, for major concert series and festivals such as Unione Musicale, the Trento Philharmonic, Monza Music Meetings, IUC Rome, and Musica con Vista, and abroad, in Germany. In 2023, together with violinist Janine Bratu, he represented the Turin Conservatory live on Rai Radio 3 as part of the program “Voci in Barcaccia”. He gave a duo recital with violinist Esther Zaglia at Teatro Vittoria in Turin, in collaboration with the De Sono Association. He has also attended numerous masterclasses with renowned pianists including Pavel Gililov, Claus Christian Schuster, Bruno Canino, Andrea Lucchesini, Michel Béroff, and Ricardo Castro. He has won numerous prizes in competitions in Italy and abroad, including First Absolute Prize at the European Music Competition in Moncalieri, First Absolute Prize at the CMF Competition in Paris, First Prize at the ISCART Competition in Lugano 2021, and Second Prize at the Washington American International Music Talent Competition 2021. He has performed in series such as the Serate Musicali del Conservatorio and Mozart Nacht und Tag, and has given solo recitals for concert seasons including Estate Reale, Pianoforte Urbano (Fondazione Contrada), Piano Live and Liguria in Musica, as well as in Bardonecchia for Musica d’Estate, in Acqui Terme for the Spazio Classica season, and in Vercelli for the Camerata Ducale.

He is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
