Victoria Saldarini
Biography

Victoria Saldarini was born in Como from a Belgian family. She met the cello at the age of eleven when she started studying with U. Pedraglio and G. Boselli at “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Como. She furthered her studies in Turin at the “G. Verdi” State Conservatory of Music, and graduated in Milan “G. Verdi” Conservatory under Prof. Marianna Sinagra, obtaining her Bachelor of Music degree with high marks. She attends now her second year of Master in Musik und Kreativität at the Musikhochschule Münster in the class of Prof. Matias de Oliveira Pinto.
She attended specialization courses with Enrico Bronzi and Damiano Scarpa at  Fondazione “S. Cecilia” in Portogruaro. She took part in masterclasses as well in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany and Brazil with D. Scarpa, E. Bronzi, Giovanni Gnocchi, Stefano Cerrato, Bruno Giuranna, Matias de Oliveira Pinto, Gabriel Schwabe, Antonio Meneses e Marcio Carneiro.
She played as principal cellist and soloist with youth orchestras such as Lombardy Youth Orchestra, Milan Youth Civica Scuola di Musica “C. Abbado” Orchestra, Como Youth Orchestra, and Orchestra Sinfonica del Lario under Pierangelo Gelmini.
Being a member of the Italian Youth Orchestra since 2019 at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, she had the chance to work with world-known musicians such as Kolja Blacher, Simone Bernardini, Daniele Rustioni and Zubin Mehta. She regularly collaborates with Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi in Sondrio/Morbegno, under the passionate baton of Lorenzo Passerini. She collaborates with Milano Classica Orchestra, recently to record a CD with Music by Cosimo Carovani with Giovanni Sollima.
Since 2016 she is U. Pedraglio’s assistant at Associazione Culturale Polifonie and during the Summer Masterclasses at the Landesakademie für die Musizierende Jugend in Ochsenhausen (Baden-Wurttemberg, DE). She has taught at the “V. Agnelli” elementary school in Turin with Associazione Mozart, working with children and teenagers. She is invited as a professor at the Festival de Violoncelo de Ouro Branco (BRA), with the support of the Italian Consulate of Belo Horizonte performing a recital program in different cities of the State of Minas Gerais as well. Since 2023 she has been teaching at the Music Academy of Münster She also works in the management of Como Contemporary Festival, a festival founded in her hometown that promotes connection between contemporary music and other arts. The Festival is organized by Associazione Culturale Polifonie, where Victoria works as well as Artistic Direction Assistant and is in charge for Pomotion and Public Relations for what regards all the activities held
by the Association.
She founded EINE KLEINE ENSEMBLE, a string and piano sextet with which she performed in Turin at the “Mozart Nacht und Tag” festival, in Saronno for “Donatori di Musica”, a non-profit organization that invites renowned musicians to play in hospitals for elderly and terminally ill people, and in Busto Arsizio at the BA Classica Festival. They discovered and performed an almost unknown piece: Felix von Weingartner Sextet op. 33.
Fond of chamber music, she founded in 2019 a cello trio with Thibaut Reznicek and Georgy Gusev to explore the multifaceted expressive profile of the cello.
She performed for Unione Musicale in Turin, playing Ravel’s Introduction et Allegro in the Camera delle Meraviglie season.
Being a globe-trotter she ended up in Mongolia in 2019, where she performed a cello solo concert at the Italian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar performing Bach Suites and in Brazil State of Minas Gerais with a recital program dedicated to Italian composers.
In 2022 she started the Cello Class at the Don Carlo Basci Music Academy in Menaggio, Lake Como.
She plays a Filippo Fasser cello made in Brescia in 2014.
