Valentina Gentile
Biography

Valentina Gentile graduated from the University of Southampton with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music in 2003 and got a Postgraduate Diploma in Music Therapy from the University of Bristol in 2007. Once back in Italy she graduated from the Conservatorio di Musica “A. Casella” in 2008, obtaining the Diploma in Pianoforte. In 2021 she also graduated from the Conservatorio “G.B. Pergolesi” in Fermo with a Master on Contemporary Music Performance.

During the years she took part in masterclasses with M.Ferrati, D. Rivera, M. Mika, S. Perticaroli, L. Bellini, to cite a few, and enrolled in piano solo and chamber music competitions, among these the Grand Prize Virtuoso of Salzburg and London (2020 and 2022) and the Golden Classical Music Awards (2020).

Her concerts focalize mainly in collaborations with other instrumentalists as well as with dancers. Lately she performed at the Mozarteum – Wiener Saal in Salzburg, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall – Elgar Room, as a result of being one of the winners of the above-mentioned competitions. In 2023 she will be performing at Carnegie Hall. She has performed in various venues in Central Italy (Auditorium S. Domenico – Foligno; Auditorium S. Francesco – Trevi; Auditorium Varrone – Rieti; Casa Menotti – Spoleto; Teatro Flavio Vespasiano- Rieti).

A big part of her professional life is dedicated to teaching music and piano to children and adolescents. She specialized in the Music Learning Theory of E. Gordon and studied also Orff-Schulwerk and Dalcroze methods, and since 2010 she has run her own private music school in Rieti. She teaches piano in the public high school.
