Trio Koinè
Biography

Trio Koinè, composed of violinist Fabrizio Berto, cellist Lorenzo Salmi, and pianist Yi Wang, was founded from the shared passion for chamber music among three friends at Conservatorio G.Verdi of Turin under the guidance of Michele Nurchis. In 2022, the group members decided to further their skills as an ensemble at the Accademia Musicale V Performance in Milan, attending masterclasses led by Adrian Pinzaru, Amedeo Cicchese, and Alessandro Deljavan. That same year, the trio was awarded a scholarship from Accademia Perosi in Biella, enabling them to study with Trio di Parma. In May 2023, they were selected as one of the three finalists in the Quartet and Chamber Music Forum organized during the Roero Cultural Events festival, where they had the privilege of working with Axel Schacher from the Belcea Quartet, pianist Andreas Frölich, and members of the Delian::Quartett. In June, the group took part to a masterclass with Carlo Fabiano at Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo. In 2023, they were ex-aequo winners of Premio Città di Padova.

Over the past few years, the trio members have individually honed their skills: Fabrizio Berto under Sergio Lamberto , Lorenzo Salmi under Amedeo Cicchese, Alex Yi Wang under Laura Richaud and Daniela Carapelli. Since September 2023, they have embarked on studies in Lugano at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana under Asier Polo and Pavel Berman, as well as at Accademia V Performance with Alessandro Deljavan.

The Trio is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
