Irene Grimaldi
Biography

Irene Grimaldi was born in Alexandria in July 2006.
At the age of five she approached the study of the violin at the Zoltan Kodaly music school in Calamandrana. At the age of eleven, she chooses to enrol in the musical address of the Middle School of Nizza Monferrato with the goal, already well defined, of preparing for the next passage to the Liceo Musicale di Alessandria, currently attended, under the guidance of Maestro Massimo Barbierato.
At the age of 11 she participated in the first ‘Talents in Canavese’ competition, placing herself in 2nd place with a score of 93/100. During the pandemic period she participates, in a duo with her sister (violin and guitar) in the national online music competition “Musicarte” winning the 2nd prize with the score of 92/100.
Since 2019 she has been assiduously attending masterclasses of musical improvement studying with important violinists of international fame.
In the individual sphere with the Masters Guido Rimonda, Roberto Ranfaldi and Tomoka Osakabe; in the orchestral sphere with the Maestro Raffaele Napoli and the Asti Sistema Orchestra association, the Maestro Paolo Ferrara and the junior section of the Classical Orchestra of Alessandria, playing in both the role of the concertino of the first violins.
In 2023, on the occasion of the celebrations for the centenary of the Air Force, she performed with the regional youth orchestra, conducted by Maestro Giuseppe Canone, in the role of concertino of the first violins.
From the beginning of her higher studies she was an assiduous member of the Orchestra of the Liceo Musicale, directed by Maestro Enrico Pesce, in the role of concertmaster of the orchestra.
She plays a violin by the violin maker Sergio Scaramelli (Ferrara) of 2017.
