Born in Avellino on 11 June 1996, Simone Donnarumma began studying cello at the age of eleven.
During his first years of training, he was followed by M° Danilo Squitieri.
In 2020 he graduated from the “D. Cimarosa” Conservatory of Avellino with full marks.
He gradually improved under the guidance of M° Ilie Ionescu and participated in several masterclasses in solo and chamber music with teachers of the caliber of Francesco Dillon and Ulf Schneider.
He has been awarded in European and international music competitions such as “Giovani Promesse” of Bracigliano, CIMN of Nocera Inferiore and “Jacopo Napoli” of Cava De’ Tirreni.
Chamber and solo activity are regularly accompanied by orchestral activity. He has performed both in Italy and abroad, in locations such as the Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium and Villa Rufolo for the famous “Ravello Festival”, at the Maschio Angioino in Naples for the “Napolinova” Association, at Villa Fondi De Sangro in Sorrento and at the Bursa Tayyare Kultur Merkezi in Türkiye.
He has continued his studies at the Fiesole School of Music with internationally renowned teachers such as Tanja Tetzlaff, Sebastian Klinger and Adrian Brendel.
He graduated in Chamber Music in March 2024 at the Cimarosa Conservatory under the guidance of M° Antonio Cannavale.
In 2021 he obtained a three-year degree in Economics and Business from the University of Salerno.
