Simona Caliandro
Biography

Born in Bari in 1983, she began her singing studies at the age of 33 at the “Nino Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli in the class of soprano Casucci Rosanna and in 2024 she obtained the second level academic diploma with the highest marks, honors and academic mention.
She plays the role of Clorinda in Monteverdi’s “Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda”, Olga in G. Lehar’s The Merry Widow, La Ciesca and subsequently Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore, Rita in Donizetti’s Rita and Norina in Don Pasquale by Donizetti.
She takes part in concert activities under the direction of Maestro Ettore Papadia, Maestro Nicola H. Samale and Maestro Danila Grassi. She takes part in the concert held on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Clara Schumann, is a soprano soloist in the sacred concert “Messa in sol Maggore” by Giacomo Insaguine on the occasion of the Sit Laus Plena International Organ Festival held in Monopoli, in the baroque concert “Quanto è dolce quell’ardor”, in the concert “Il caso Van Westerhout: un fiammingo in Puglia” and in the Open Concert at the Van Westerhout theater in Mola di Bari (Ba).

She is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
