Paolo Salvi began studying the piano at the age of five under the guidance of Silvia Pezzotta. He later studied with Massimo Cotroneo and Orazio Sciortino, earning his Second-Level Academic Diploma with honors and distinction from the Luca Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia. Already during his First-Level Diploma, he distinguished himself by presenting a research thesis dedicated to Robert Schumann and his Exercises in the Form of Variations on a Theme by Beethoven, for which he also received honors and a special mention.
Driven by a strong interest in new music and by a particular attention to his relationship with contemporary culture, he continues his studies with Emanuele Arciuli at the ETS Academy in Pinerolo, attending the third-level master’s program in contemporary piano.
In 2025, on behalf of the Lester Foundation, he curated the first edition of the festival Entropia, an initiative supported by the Province of Bergamo that contributes to the dissemination of contemporary music and to an inclusive and participatory vision of the concert experience.
His performance activity sees him regularly engaged in numerous concerts, both as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed, among others, at Piano City Milano, the Brescia and Bergamo International Piano Festival, the Onde Musicali Festival on Lake Iseo, for the association “La Mousiké Téchne” in Cagliari, and for the Pergolesi Music Association in Vallecrosia (IM). In 2023 he was selected to perform Chopin’s Variations on “Là ci darem la mano”, Op. 2, with the STU.D.I.O. Orchestra of the Brescia Conservatory conducted by Pier Carlo Orizio. In October 2024 he gave a recital at CUMT in Xuzhou, China.
In 2023 he made his debut in the concert season of the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Bergamo with Duo Convergenza, an ensemble founded with guitarist Massimiliano Cirelli that focuses particularly on collaborations with contemporary composers, including Livio Gianola.
Over the years he has distinguished himself in various national and international competitions: in 2024 he won the First Absolute Prize at the XXXVI European Music Competition in Moncalieri (TO), along with the special piano performance prize “Rosy Tondato Award.” In 2025 he won the XVI “L. Marenzio” Prize, promoted by the Lions Club “Brescia Cidneo.” He has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Louis Lortie, Roberto Prosseda, Francesco Libetta, Alexander Lonquich, and Alexander Romanovsky.
Since 2022 he has been teaching piano in various institutions and associations, including “Paratico in Musica” in Paratico (BS), the “Rondò” Academy in Nuvolera (BS), and “I Piccoli Musici” in Casazza (BG).
