Giorgio Trione Bartoli
Biography

Giorgio Trione Bartoli, Professor of Piano at the U. Giordano Conservatory in Foggia, graduated with highest honors and distinction from the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari under the guidance of Maestro Pasquale Iannone. He also graduated with full marks at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with Maestro Benedetto Lupo.

He began studying piano at the age of ten, and his exceptional musical talent quickly led him to achieve significant milestones, winning numerous national and international awards, including: Second Prize (with first prize not awarded) at the Arcangelo Speranza International Piano Competition; First Prize at the Amadeus International Piano Competition in Lazise; Second Prize at the “Young Pianist of the North” International Piano Competition in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (England); First Prize at the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Szafarnia (Poland), where he also won three special awards, including Best Performance of a Chopin Mazurka; First Prize at the Enschede International Piano Competition (Netherlands); First Prize at the “Città di Caserta” International Piano Competition; finalist in the prestigious “Astana Piano Passion” competition in Kazakhstan; winner of the Premio delle Arti in 2013; and winner of the “Antonio Napolitano” International Piano Competition. He was also one of the six semifinalists in the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition for Youth in 2015; First Prize at the Paris Grand Prize Virtuoso International Piano Competition in 2015, where he received a special award for the best interpretation of a Chopin piece; First Prize at the “Premio Francesco Moscato” International Piano Competition in Airola; and one of the finalists at the 2017 Busoni Competition. In 2018, he won Second Prize (with first prize not awarded) at the Troisdorf International Piano Competition, Second Prize at the Spoleto International Piano Competition, and the prestigious “Premio Casella” (Second Prize) at the Premio Venezia held at the Gran Teatro La Fenice.

He has performed solo recitals in prestigious venues such as the “Fondazione Petruzzelli” and the “Camerata Musicale Barese” in Bari; the “Camerata Musicale Sulmonese” in Sulmona; the “Società dei Concerti” and the “Società del Quartetto” in Milan; the concert season of the Accademia Filarmonica in Messina; “Federimusica” and “Il Maggio della Musica” in Naples; the “Amici della Musica” Foundation in Foggia; the Municipal House in Prague; the Recital Hall at Trinity School in London; the BagnoKonzertGalerie Foundation in Steinfurt, Germany; and in Moscow and Dmitrov through an Italy-Russia collaboration promoted by CESVIR. He has also performed at the Parco della Musica for the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome; the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile; the “Amici della Musica” in Cagliari; and at the FFF Festival in Florence, organized by Maestro Lucchesini.

He has given solo recitals across Italy, Spain, France, Hungary, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Mexico, England, Kazakhstan, Poland, Switzerland, and Russia. As a soloist with orchestra, starting at the age of 13, he performed Beethoven’s Concerto op. 37 no. 3 with the Orchestra of the Bari Conservatory and later made his debut at the Teatro Petruzzelli under the baton of Maestro Marco Angius, performing Liszt’s Concerto no. 1, S124. He has performed with the “Mihail Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau conducted by Maestro Ovidiu Balan, the Astana Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Yerzan Dautov, and the “Duchi d’Acquaviva” orchestra conducted by Maestro Dominique Rouits. He also performed Liszt’s Concerto no. 1 with the State Orchestra of Mexico conducted by Enrique Batiz in Toluca and Mexico City.

In 2015, he participated in the event “Dante l’immaginario,” celebrating the 750th anniversary of Dante’s birth, performing Liszt’s “Dante Symphony” for two pianos and choir, transcribed by the composer himself. He also has an active chamber music career, frequently performing with cellist Silvia Maria Gira.

He is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
