Duo Pizzetti
Biography

Duo violin (Valerio Capilli) and piano (Arianna De Simone) formed in summer 2021, on the occasion of the XXXIXth edition of the International Courses of Musical Interpretation organized by Associazione Umbria Classica in the city of Foligno. Born from common interests in the Italian repertoire of the early 20th century, it owes its name to the composer and musicologist Ildebrando Pizzetti (Parma, 1880 – Rome, 1968). In a.y. 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, the Duo attended the International Biennial Course of Chamber Music held at Avos Project International School of Music by Maestros Mario Montore, Alessio Pianelli, David Romano, Luca Sanzò, Riccardo Savinelli, Massimo Spada, and Mirei Yamada.
Recently, he participated in the Chamber Music masterclass held on May 19, 2024 by Maestro Ivan Rabaglia at the Conservatorio Statale Alfredo Casella (AQ), and in the International Courses of Perfection in Portogruaro in the Chamber Music class of Trio di Parma (Bronzi, Miodini, Rabaglia) from August 28 to September 3, 2024.
In July 2023, they won the “Chamber Music” category of the Young people play Petrassi competition, organized by Associazione Musicopaideia as part of the project Petrassi. Il maestro dei maestri, curated by the Zagarolo Municipal Administration to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the death of composer Goffredo Petrassi.
Among the venues where the Duo has performed: Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo, on the occasion of the concert of the winners of the Young people play Petrassi competition; the Reale Circolo Canottieri Tevere Remo in Rome, on the occasion of the concert dedicated to Italy and Norway between the 19th and 20th centuries, in the XXXVII season of Chamber Music Concerts; Villa Abbamer in Grottaferrata.

The Duo is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
