Ginevra Gambacciani was born in Montepulciano on April 22, 2000, and began studying violin in 2007 at the H.W. Henze Institute in Montepulciano under the guidance of Maestro Renata Lacko and Maestro Laurence Cocchiara. After graduating from the E.S. Piccolomini Musical High School in Siena, she continued her musical journey at the R. Franci Conservatory in Siena, in the class of Maestro Lucia Goretti, with whom she earned her First-Level Academic Diploma on December 5, 2022. She is currently attending the Master’s degree program in Violin at the R. Franci Conservatory in the class of Maestro Lucia Goretti and the Master’s degree program in Chamber Music in the class of Maestro Margherita di Giovanni. In 2024, she won the Rinaldo Franci Scholarship for Chamber Music together with pianist Giorgio Barni.
Since 2013, she has gained orchestral experience with the Poliziana Orchestra and the International Art Workshop in Montepulciano, the ONCI Orchestra (National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories), the Vivace Youth Orchestra, the Miniera Orchestra, the Rome Youth Orchestra, and since 2025, she has been attending the Maggio Musicale Academy in Florence. She has collaborated as an external member with the following orchestras: OGI (Italian Youth Orchestra), OIDA, Arezzo Youth Orchestra, and the AMAT Academy.
In recent years, thanks to the Chamber Music course, she has participated in various productions in collaboration with the R. Franci Conservatory, performing at the P. Nardini Musical Review (Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno), Terni, Siena, and Monte San Savino with the Ravel Itinerant Festival, at the Murlo Music Festival, and the Mushicetnunc Festival in Montalcino (both with the violin and piano duo), and at the Chigiana International Festival at the Chigiana Academy in Siena.
Giorgio Barni began his studies at the age of 8 at the “L’ottava Nota” music school in Poggio a Caiano with Professor Svetlana Pushenko. He later earned his first-level academic diploma in piano with highest honors at the “R. Franci” Conservatory in Siena under the guidance of Professor Paola Franconi. Currently, he is a master’s student in piano and chamber music under the tutelage of Professor Matteo Fossi and Professor Margherita di Giovanni.
In 2017, he gave his first piano recital at the Medici stables in Poggio a Caiano. In 2023, he performed at the “Salone dei concerti” of the Chigiana Academy in tribute to the death of Maurizio Pollini, playing Beethoven’s Les Adieux sonata.
He has always had a deep interest in chamber music and has performed with various ensembles in festivals and musical settings such as the “Cromatica festival” in Grosseto, the “Sala degli specchi” of the Accademia dei Rozzi in Siena, the “Salone dei concerti” of the Chigiana Academy in Siena, the “Salotto musicale” of the LUA in Abbadia San Salvatore, and the “Mushic et nunc” chamber music festival in Montalcino.
Since 2022, he has been performing with violinist Ginevra Gambacciani, with whom he won the “R. Franci” scholarship for chamber music formations in 2024. The duo performs in various musical settings such as the “Livorno music festival”, the “Pietro Nardini” review at the Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno, the “Murlo music festival” in Murlo, and the “Mushic et nunc” festival in Montalcino.
Currently, he is a piano teacher at the “Diapason” music school in Siena.
The Duo is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
