A Light Course in violin taught by Sonig Tchakerian is a short course scheduled during the academic year and it consists of 10 lessons of 1 hours divided into 5 teaching sessions distributed over the year between December 2025 and April 2026. Dates of lessons for the Academic Year will be published in October..
The course is dedicated to violinists who wish to improve their skills: the main objectives of the course are the extension of the repertoire and the preparation for major international competitions. A contributor pianist will be present during the lessons, if requested.
The course is dedicated to violinists, both graduates and not. Age limit: to apply for admission candidates must be no older than 30. The course is open to students enrolled in the Accademia as well as to external students. Students attending annual academic courses may also enroll in the Light Course.
Applications for the Academic Year 2025/26 must reach our offices by 28 September 2025. With the same requirements, the date of submission of the application is considered for choosing the students. Any applications sent after the deadline will be evaluated by the Directors of Studies.
Entrance exams for 2025/26 will be held on Autumn 2025.
The selection takes place in two phases:
- together with their application form, candidates must send a CV and an audio / video file with free program, made no earlier than 2024. The Artistic Director and Prof. Tchakerian will assess the materials submitted and will make a list of candidates, who will be called for an audition at the Accademia di Musica in Pinerolo.
File program:
– one movement from a concert (chosen by the candidate);
– one virtuosistic piece for solo violin or for violin and piano (chosen by the candidate). - entrance exam by invitation of the artistic director of the Academy. Admission exam program (the movement from a concert and the virtuoso piece could be the same performed in the audio/video file of the preselection):

– a composition by J. S. Bach.

The enrolment fee must be paid annually. It is non-refundable. The receipt proving that payment has been effected must be attached to your application to enrol. In case a student wants to attend more than one advanced course, the enrolment fee is to be paid only once in a year.
The tuition fee annual attendance fee is to be paid only after passing the entrance exam, according to the instructions that will be sent by the secretary’s office.
