Christiane Karajeva
Biography
Christiane Karajeva is an internationally active pianist and passionate teacher. Born in Vienna, she completed her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Her influential teachers included Dieter Weber, Elisso Wirrsaladze, Lev Naumov and Wilhelm Kempff.
Concert tours have taken her throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East as a soloist and chamber musician. She taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna for 40 years. Karajeva combines classical concert practice with innovative teaching and film projects (short film HANDMADE), which focus on economical piano playing and the philosophy of simplicity.
