Chiara Battiato began studying piano at a very young age and was admitted first to the pre-academic courses, then to the first-level Academic Diploma courses at the “L. Boccherini” Conservatory in Lucca under the guidance of Maestro R. Peruzzi. In October 2023, she graduated with with highest honors, with a thesis that included Clara Schumann’s “Variations op. 20, on a theme by Robert Schumann,” Robert Schumann’s “Ghost Variations WoO 24,” and Franz Schubert’s Sonata in A minor, op. 143, D784. In 2022, the Appassionatamente Piano Duo was founded with pianist Maria Agnese Mason, again under the guidance of Maestro Peruzzi. The Duo won 2nd prize at the following piano duo competitions: Riviera Etrusca (April 2023), Premio Lams Matera (May 2023), Concorso città di Scarperia (June 2023) and 3rd prize at the Clara Wieck Schumann chamber music competition (April 2023). As a soloist, she won 2nd prize at the Premio Toscana città di Cascina competition (June 2023). Since 2014, she has performed in concerts and events in various cities in Tuscany; the most recent performances were at “Villa Argentina” Viareggio (July 2022), “Real Collegio” Lucca on the occasion of the Lucca classica event (April 2023), and “Teatro San Girolamo” Lucca (June 2025) aperitif concert. She has attended piano masterclasses with internationally renowned masters such as Zlata Chochieva, Mariangela Vacatello, Dmitry Ablogin, Piotr Banasik, Sven Birch, and Alberto Nosè. In January 2024, she began her professional experience at the Accademia Musicale di San Miniato Basso (PI), and in July 2024, at the Scuola Bonamici in Pisa. She is preparing to take the final exam for the Level II Academic Diploma at the “L. Boccherini” Conservatory with a program that includes Franz Schubert’s Sonata D.959.
She is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
