Sonia Petruzza, born in 1996, began studying the violin at the age of 12. At 15, she enrolled in the conservatory and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree with full marks and honors. In 2020, she completed the Master’s degree program in violin at the Conservatory of Reggio Calabria, again achieving top marks and honors, under the guidance of Maestro Davide Alogna. In 2018, she attended an annual violin perfection course under the guidance of Maestro Alina Komissarova. Also in 2018, she passed the audition for the National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories. In 2021, she pursued an annual advanced course with Maestro Andrea Obiso at the “Avos Project” in Rome. She has attended numerous masterclasses, including orchestral studies, violin, baroque music, orchestral conducting, score analysis, body awareness, improvisation, and chamber music, with prominent teachers such as Fabio De Leonardis, Tiziana di Giuseppe, Inger Murray, Pasquale Morgante, Simonide Braconi, Chikara Imamura, Ferruccio Messinese, Hakan Sensoy, Peter Tiboris, Giuseppe Lanzetta, and many others. She has performed and collaborated with several orchestras, including “La Grecìa”, Orchestra del Teatro Francesco Cilea di Reggio Calabria, Orchestra Filarmonica della Calabria, e Orchestra Sinfonica della Calabria, She is currently a music teacher at a middle school.
