Pietro Mendicino, born in 2003, graduated from the “Gioacchino Da Fiore” Classical High School in Rende (CS) in 2021 with top marks and honors. A student of M. Angelo Pietro Guido, he obtained his First Diploma in Piano at the “Stanislao Giacomantonio” Conservatory in Cosenza at the age of 19 with top marks and honors and in 2024 he obtained the Second Level Diploma in the same institution with top marks, honors and academic mention. He regularly participates in various competitions, obtaining important prizes and awards, including the 1st Prize at the 5th International Competition “G. Mahler” in Trebisacce in 2022, the 2nd Prize at the 5th and 1st Prize at the 6th edition of the International Competition “Città di Acquaviva delle Fonti” in 2021 and 2022, the 3rd Prize at the International Competition “Clara Wieck Schumann” in Massa in 2023, the 1st Prize at the Competition “Città di Spoleto” in 2024. He was one of the ten finalists in the 3rd edition of the “Saint-Paul Trois Chateaux” International Competition and participated in the 39th edition of the Premio Venezia, held at the prestigious Teatro La Fenice. He also received the “Recondite Armonie” Special Prize during the “Giovani Musicisti del Mondo” Festival in Grosseto in 2025.
He participates in masterclasses with internationally renowned pianists such as Boris Petrushansky, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Massimiliano Ferrati and Alexander Hintchev. He also participated in the 7th Edition of the EPTA Piano Festival and Masterclass in Ponte de Lima (Portugal) under the guidance of M. Luis Pipa and M. Murray McLachlan.
He has performed on many occasions as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles in Cosenza at the Casa della Musica, the Museo dei Brettii e degli Enotri, the Sala Quintieri of the Rendano Theater, in Rossano on the occasion of the “Piano City” Festival, at the Palazzo Sprovieri in Acri, in the “Sala Tokyo” of the Museo del Presente in Rende and at the “Orfeo Stillo” Auditorium in Crotone.
He participated in a chamber music masterclass held by M. Alberto Miodini together with the clarinetist Manuel Principe, with whom he recently performed in the Sala Gustav Mahler in Trebisacce (CS), at the Antico Granaio in Roseto Capo Spulico (CS) and at the Castello di Santa Severina (KR).
He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
