Mattia Lorenzini was born in 1998 in Genova, where he studied at Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini and achieved a Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance in 2020 with top marks cum laude in the class of M° Gianfranco Carlascio. In 2023 he achieved, in the same music conservatory, the Master Degree with top marks cum laude and honourable mention under the guidance of M° Maurizio Barboro; in both cases, his graduation thesis got a recommendation for publication. He followed masterclasses with pianists Irene Veneziano, Pierluigi Camicia, Roberto Plano, Vovka Ashkenazy, Pietro De Maria, and with violinist Cristiano Rossi and cellist Alain Meunier – with the latter at Accademia di Imola – for chamber music repertoire. He also studied for a few years choral repertoire and choir conducting with Roberta Paraninfo and Fabio Lombardo. He is currently enrolled in a Master Degree in Musicology at University of Pavia.
He took part and won several prizes in both national and international piano competitions, and also gained scholarships and recognitions during his studying years at Conservatorio Niccolò Paganini, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician.
He regularly performs as soloist and in various instrumental/vocal chamber music ensembles. He gave concerts for several associations and concert series, among them: GOG Giovine Orchestra Genovese and the “Associazione Amici del Carlo Felice e del Conservatorio N. Paganini”, “Amici di Paganini” (in this occasion he took part in the complete performance of Beethoven’s sonatas for violin and piano on the composers 250th birth anniversary), Unitre of Alessandria and of Fossano (CN), Liguria Eventi. He performed for the so-called “Rolli Days” in Genova’s city hall (Palazzo Tursi), and for the “Stagione concertistica internazionale” in Sanremo in trio ensemble (clarinet, cello and piano) for the “Stagione Musicale di Sassello” (SV) in piano duet. He gave some concerts for “MusicaNovi” in Novi Ligure (AL), and also performed for “Scriabin Concert Series” in Grosseto, for “Società dei Concerti” in La Spezia, for Monferrato Classic Festival.
In 2023 he started a collaboration with astronaut Franco Malerba that brought to the realization of some conferences and shows about space and space innovations, following the musical part and performing himself. In March 2024 he played Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto with the OSAI Orchestra, conducted by M° Paolo Fiamingo. In the following months he gave some concerts together with violinist Oleksandr Pushkarenko. In the field of contemporary music, ha took part in some first ever performances: notably, in 2025 – in a collaboration between University of Genova, “La Nuova Fucina Musicale” and “Associazione Pasquale Anfossi” – he performed with a vocal and instrumental group the chamber opera “Briscola”, composed by Arturo Dal Bianco on a libretto in Genoese dialect.
He also dedicates to teaching: in particular, in 2021 he started working as piano teacher at Istituto musicale Alfredo Casella in Novi Ligure.
He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica ETS since 2025.
