Matilde Bianchi
Biography

Matilde Bianchi is an Italian pianist born in Bologna in 2002. She completed her studies at the G. B. Martini Conservatory of Bologna, earning her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance in July 2025 with the highest distinction, 110 cum laude under the guidance of Matteo Fossi, Flavio Meniconi and Antonio Piricone.

She attended the Opera School of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna as an opera coach,
completing the programme in January 2022. She has further refined her skills through
masterclasses and advanced academies such as the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, studying with world-renowned pianists including André Gallo, Matteo Fossi, John Olaf Laneri, Igor Roma, Jean-Marc Luisada, Lylia Zilberstein, Maria Perrotta and Miriam Garagnani.

In 2018, she made her solo debut at the Vatican Museums, and at fifteen she appeared as a soloist with the Conservatory Orchestra performing Mozart’s Concerto K. 414. She has since performed at the Teatro di Vinci with the Ferruccio Busoni String Orchestra and at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro with the Rossini Theatre Symphony Orchestra. In August 2025 she was featured as a soloist at the Ericssohnshalle in Stockholm.

A notable part of her career is her collaboration with the Senzaspine Orchestra, with whom she performed at Teatro Manzoni in Bologna, strengthening her presence within the Italian musical scene.

Alongside her solo activity, Matilde has extensive experience as an opera répétiteur. She has served as official pianist for the international BIOA masterclasses and for the Bologna Opera Academy, working with Leone Magiera and Luis Ledesma. She has collaborated with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna under Maestro Gea Garatti for productions such as Rossini’s Stabat Mater and the children’s adaptation of La Cenerentola, and she has worked as répétiteur at the Georg Solti Academy.

She is the recipient of several awards, including:

  • 1st Prize at the international competition “Giovani in Crescendo” (Pesaro, 2017).
  • 3rd Prize at the Andrea Baldi Solo Competition (2021).
  • 1st Prize at the Alberghini Vocal Chamber Music Duo Competition with Clara La Licata (2021).
  • 3rd Prize at the Elsa Respighi International Competition for Italian Vocal Chamber Music
    (2021).

She is a student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
