Martino Grosa has got a Master’s degree with honours from the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato – Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Aoste, where he studied with Fabrizio Pavone. He also got his Bachelor’s degree from the same institution, again with honours. Currently, he’s studying at the Accademia Perosi in Biella with Roberto Ranfaldi, and at the Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo with Cecilia Ziano. He attended masterclass with Roberto Ranfaldi, Cecilia Ziano, and, for chamber music, Ivan Rabaglia and Maurizio Baglini. In 2023, he attended the advanced orchestra training course “Obiettivo Orchestra” in collaboration with the Filarmonica TRT at the Scuola APM in Saluzzo, where he studied under the guidance of Sergei Galaktionov, Stefano Vagnarelli, Cecilia Bacci, Martina Bertolo and Marco Polidori, after which he was the only winner of the final audition for the Filarmonica TRT.
PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
Orchestral performances:
He worked with many orchestras all around Italy, among which the OSN RAI in Turin, the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino, the Filarmonica TRT and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. He has played many times as a principal second in the youth orchestra Obiettivo Orchestra of the Scuola APM in Saluzzo (CN). He has worked with maestros like Gianandrea Noseda, Robert Trevino, Lorenza Borrani, Daniele Rustioni, Donato Renzetti, Yukata Sado, Felix Mildenberger, Lawrence Renes.
In 2024, after an audition, he won a spot in the substitutes list for Teatro Regio in Turin.
Solistic performances:
As a solo violinist, he played a program of Johann Sebastian Bach’s solo violin sonatas for the festival Happy Bach Day in Turin, whereas he made many appearances as a soloist accompanied either by piano – as in the festival Laudato si’ organized by the Coro della città di Rivarolo, where he played Strauss’ and Beethoven’s violin sonatas – or by orchestral ensembles in Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Aoste.
Chamber music performances:
He’s played many concerts with the Quartetto Cavour from the Scuola APM in Saluzzo
during the 2023-24 season. He also played in the première of Sgambati’s posthumous String Nonet in two events patronized by the Filarmonica TRT and MiTO-Settembre Musica. He also appeared in numerous concerts organized by the Accademia Perosi, both in string quartet and in string octet formation. Lastly, he played with many chamber projects with the Conservatoire de la Vallée d’Aoste, among which the most recent is Stravinsky’s L’historie du Soldat.
