Guido Seguso, born in Mestre on February 24, 1997, began his musical career at the age of 13, first on the piano and later, at 17, on the clarinet.
He began studying piano under the guidance of Maestro Michele Liuzzi at the former Giovanni Paolo I middle school in Venice, and at 17, he enrolled at the Marco Polo music high school in Venice, where he began studying clarinet with Maestro Giorgio Levorato. During his high school years, he took private exams at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, passing with excellent grades in both instruments. He also participated in several concerts organized by the high school and musical associations, some of which were held at the Palazzo delle Prigioni in Venice and the Foresteria Valdese in Venice.
He participated in the 4th City of Venice Competition and the 1st National “Scuole in Musica” Competition, placing second in both, and in the “City of Venice” competition, winning first prize for the best interpretation of a piece by Ugo Amendola. As a clarinet player, he was a member of the L.O.V. youth orchestra of the Lambarena association, where he also performed as a soloist in some of Venice’s most important venues, including the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice.
After completing high school in 2016, he chose to enroll in the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory of Venice, studying piano, in the class of Professor Anna Maria Barutti. In his second year, he studied with Maestro Massimo Alessandro Somenzi, with whom he completed his three-year program in 2020, graduating with honors. In 2023, he participated in the 16th edition of the “Città di Piove di Sacco National Music Performance Competition,” placing third. He also performed alongside his teacher at the season-opening concert at the Toniolo Theater in Mestre, in the marathon concert “26 golden hands: Massimo Somenzi and his piano school.”
In 2020, after completing his first course, he decided to begin studying clarinet, moving to the Cesare Pollini Conservatory in Padua and entering the class of Maestro Luca Lucchetta. In 2023, he completed the three-year course, graduating with a score of 108/110, and began two two-year courses to complete both courses. He then enrolled in the two-year traditional clarinet program and the two-year répétiteur program for piano.
During his studies in Venice, he had the opportunity to participate as a clarinetist in the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory orchestra, playing at the Teatro Malibran in Venice. He also participated in the “Premio Adriatic LNG” chamber music competition organized by the Francesco Venezze Conservatory in Rovigo, placing second ex aequo with his group, which allowed him to perform at the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro la Fenice as winners. He has performed as a soloist with the Padua Conservatory Orchestra and as second clarinet with the “Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto” and the “Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta.”
He has participated in masterclasses with the clarinet maestros Vincenzo Paci, Fabrizio Meloni, Fabio di Casola, Nicolas Baldeyrou, and Roberto Scalabrin.
He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica ETS since 2025.
