Born in Andria (BT) on April 2nd 2005, Florangela D’Elia began studying the violin at the age of five. At eight, she passed the entrance examination for the “Niccolò Piccinni” Conservatoire in Bari, where she studied under the guidance of Maestro Carmine Scarpati. At thirteen, she joined the Conservatoire’s Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Giovanni Pelliccia, distinguishing herself as its youngest member. At fourteen, she was admitted to the First-Level Academic Course with the highest possible score (100/100).
At sixteen, she earned the highest level of the International Certification awarded by the BIMED St Cecilia School of Music, achieving a score of 100 with honours, after completing the entire examination in English. The Examination Board remarked: “The choice of programme and performance skills—well above the required standard combined with strong motivation and an excellent stage presence, justify the awarding of full marks with honours.”
At seventeen, she obtained the “Management Lab” certificate from the Stauffer Centre for Strings in Cremona, under the guidance of Cindy Hwang, Founder and President of Inpulse Creatives, and Jacob Shaw, Founder and Director of the Scandinavian Cello School.
She has further enriched her artistic education by attending masterclasses with distinguished maestros such as Cristiano Rossi, Vincenzo Bolognese, Alessandro Milani, Giovanni Angeleri, Salvatore Lombardo, Carlo Maria Parazzoli, and Ivan Rabaglia. She continues her advanced violin studies with Maestro Gabriele Ceci and her chamber music studies with Maestro Simone Gramaglia.
She collaborates with several ensembles, including Collegium Musicum, the Symphony Orchestra of the Milan Conservatoire, the all-female chamber orchestra “Note di Puglia” (with which she performed Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as a soloist), and the Federician Symphony Orchestra, where she serves as assistant concertmaster of the first violins.
At just eighteen, she earned her First-Level Academic Diploma in Violin at the “Piccinni” Conservatoire in Bari with a final mark of 110 with honours, presenting the thesis “Niccolò Paganini: The 24 Caprices op. 1. Improvisation or Meditation?” and performing selected Caprices.
Showcasing her versatility, in March 2025 she performed the concert Armonie di Vita in Verona alongside pianist Andrea Simone De Nicolò, an event that garnered significant media attention and coverage from national newspapers and television broadcasters. At nineteen, as a student of the Milan Conservatoire, she completed a monographic course on Giacomo Puccini and the workshop “Presto all’Opera!” with Maestro Fabio Sartorelli, musicologist and Opera and Ballet Listener’s Guide at the Accademia of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. At twenty, she was appointed Artistic Director of the inaugural edition of the Festival OperaInMusica Città di Terlizzi – A Tribute to the Great Composers, organised by Pro Loco UNPLI Terlizzi with the patronage of the Municipality of Terlizzi and the Regional Council of Apulia.
She is currently enrolled in the Second-Level Academic Course in Violin at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatoire in Milan, studying under Maestra Laura Gorna.
She performs on a 1966 Marino Capicchioni violin.
She is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
