Eugenio Catale, born in Turin, studied at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, earning a degree with full marks and honours under the guidance of Dario Destefano in October 2021.
At 17 he was pre-selected for a cello master in the United States with David Starkweather.
In 2018 he won as Absolute First Prize at the tenth edition of the Agliè international competition and as First Prize at the third edition of the “Musica in Langa” international competition.
In September of the same year he participated in the week of the Ferrara Chamber Music Academy organised by the EUYO.
In March 2019 he made his debut as a soloist playing with Umberto Clerici during an evening of the Conservatory of Turin.
In summer 2019 he was selected for the “Accademia dei Solisti Veneti” with Giuseppe Barutti, winning a scholarship and participating as a soloist in two concerts with the Solisti Veneti.
In 2021/22 he attends, upon admission, advanced specialisation courses at the Pavia Cello Academy with Enrico Dindo and at the Fiesole School of Music with Paolo Bonomini and Francesco Dillon.
He then followed a Masterkurs at the Hochschule für Musik, Theather und Medien in
Hannover under the guidance of Vashti Hunter.
Under the guidance of Antonio Valentino faced, together with the pianist Gabriele
Casciano, the duo repertoire for cello and piano, participating in various chamber exhibitions and interpreting the integral of the works of R. Schumann for the Chamber Music Association of Trieste.
Over the years he has participated in many Masterclasses, with Johannes Goritzki, Asier Polo, Enrico Dindo, Amedeo Cicchese, Paolo Bonomini, Antonio Meneses, Philip Muller, Louise Hopkins and Mario Brunello.
He has collaborated with a lot of orchestras in Italy such Filarmonica ‘900 of Teatro Regio Torino, Teatro Regio of Torino, La Fil Filarmonica di Milano and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
He plays a cello by Vincenzo Sannino, c.1910-1920.
