Graduated from the Conservatory of Bolzano, he continued his advanced studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris under the guidance of Professor Pierre Thibaud, where he was awarded the Premier Prix à l’unanimité. He has pursued an extensive career as a soloist, performing with the Mantua Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestra of Padua and the Veneto, the Rome Symphony Orchestra, the
Italian National Symphony Orchestra (RAI), and the Orchestra della Toscana. With the latter, he toured alongside Alexander Lonquich, performing Dmitri Shostakovich’s Concerto for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra. He has taught and given masterclasses at the Santafiora in Musica International Festival, the Saluzzo School of Advanced Musical Studies, the Portogruaro Advanced Music Courses, and the Musicariva Festival. He has also served on the faculties of the Conservatories of Udine, Cuneo, Turin, and Alessandria. He has been invited to give brass masterclasses at the Tanglewood Institute in Boston, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, and the University of Toronto. In November 2010, he served as a jury member at the 21st Porcia International Competition. A founding member of the Gomalan Brass Quintet, he has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and has recorded four albums for Summit Records, Naxos, and MeisterMusica. Winner of the First Prize at the Passau International Competition (Germany), he has been Principal Trumpet of the Italian National Symphony Orchestra (RAI) since 2003.
