Pol Mendoza Partida
Biography

Pol Mendoza is a young Mexican-Catalan cellist born in Barcelona. He has recently obtained the prestigious Ferrer-Salat Scholarship to study the four year Bachelor Degree program at the CONSERVATORY LICEU FOUNDATION with Professor Lluís Claret , from 2023 to 2027. Pol won the Barcelona Conservatory soloist competition and performed as soloist with the Barcelona Conservatory Symphonic Orchestra during the course 2023-2024. Pol was selected to join the ESMUC Junior program during the 2022-2023 course with Professor Erica Wise . Pol was a full member of the JOVE ORQUESTRA NACIONAL DE CATALUNYA and Sinfónica Joven de Galicia , he also was a full member of the cello orchestra GRUPCELLO.CAT directed by Anna Mora in which he was first cello and soloist in 2023. He has participated in several summer festivals, instrumental performance stays, and masterclasses such as SOMMERMUSIK IM OBEREN NAGOLDTAL in Germany with Cristóforo Pestalozzi in 2019, the MASTERS CELLO CLASSES AT FONTFROIDE, France with Lluis Claret and Anna Mora in 2021, the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COURSE OF CERVERA with José Mor , the XXXVII INTERNATIONAL MUSIC INTERPRETATION COURSES EDUARDO DEL PUEYO with Adolfo Gutiérrez in 2022, and VIRTUOSO & BELCANTO festival in Lucca, Italy with Professors Claudio Bohórquez and Paolo Bonomini in 2023 , he participated in TICINO MUSICA FESTIVAL with maestro Asier Polo , in 2024-25 , participated in the Accademia di Musica with Enrico Dindo in 2025 And in The Summer festival of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Peter Bruns . During the summer of 2023 he performed as a soloist two concerts at emblematic forums in Mexico such as the López Portillo Museum-House in Guadalajara and the “Niños Cantores Auditorium at las Rosas Conservatory” in Morelia with Bernardo Ramírez as piano accompaniment. This year he has also performed as a soloist and has been teaching masterclasses in Guadalajara. Pol began playing cello at the age of 4 and has been guided and supported by professors such as Ingrid Kunstman , Mattias Weinmann , Eulalia Subirà , Anna Mora, and Eulalia Nosas with whom he studied the Professional Degree at Barcelona’s Music Conservatory. Since early years, he has been distinguished by his cheerful and energetic personality when playing, always interested in expressing sensibility through the quality of sound. Pol plays a contemporary cello made by Nicholas Gilles.

He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica since 2025.
