Gioele Pierro
Biography

Born in Oxford in 2001, he started playing the violin aged 7 at the Music School of Venaria Reale (Turin).

In 2022 he graduated with top marks at the Turin Conservatory of Music, where he’s still studying with Umberto Fantini.

At the same Institution, he is currently finishing his bachelor in Music Composition, studying with Giuseppe Elos and Giulio Castagnoli.

He attended masterclasses and courses both as soloist and in chamber music ensamble with great musicians and teachers, such as Ilya Grubert, Ivan Rabaglia, Lukas Hagen, Daniel Roberts, Marco Rizzi, Matthias Lingenfelder, Simon Rowland-Jones, Christophe Giovanninetti, Enrico Pace, Antonio Valentino.

He had concerts in numerous Italian cities, in France and in Germany, working with prestigious music institutions, such as Unione Musicale and MiTo SettembreMusica.

As a composer, many of his works have been performed in Turin, Casale Monferrato, Moncalvo, Brindisi and Lindau. In 2022, his piece for Violin Solo Wanderlust won the first price at the National Composing Competition FDG2022.

From 2022, he is the Violinist of the Trio Hieracon, with whom he is currently studying with Ivan Rabaglia at the National Accademy of Santa Cecilia.

In 2023, the Trio won the First Price at the Stefano Gueresi Chamber Music Competition in Mantova. From 2023 he is also the second violin of the Petra String Quartet, with whom he studies with Claudia Ravetto.

In 2024 he will soon begin to attend the violin courses at the Pinerolo Academy of Music with Lucy Hall.
