Paolo Tomasini began his cello studies in 2010 at the “Scuola Civica di Musica, C. Abbado” in Milan under the guidance of M° Silvio Righini. Here he graduated from the Three-year Academic Diploma Level I with a grade of 110 cum laude and mention.
Since 2022 he began the Academic Biennium in the class of M° Silvia Chiesa at the “C. Monteverdi” Conservatory of Cremona.
He participated in the masterclasses “Cantieri Musicali”, “Musica d’Estate” with M° Enrico Bronzi and some masterclasses with M° Tobia Scarpolini, M° Mario Shirai Grigolato, M° Luigi Piovano, M° Silvia Chiesa, M° Matias de Oliveira Pinto, M° Stefano Cerrato, M° Walter Grimmer, M° Claudia Ravetto and M° Steffan Morris.
After playing with various youth orchestras in Lombardy, he is since 2021 first cello in the “Youth Symphony Orchestra of Milan,” at the Auditorium Cariplo, for which he has played with conductors A. Oddone, T. Guggeis, C. P. Flor, J. Santonja, A. Gabriele, A. De la Parra, R. Treviño and E. Tjeknavorian and with soloists F. Dego and E. Dindo, also performing in the Swan solo from Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals.”
He also played with the “Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano” formerly “LaVerdi”, conducted by T. Peltokoski, A. Boreyko and T. Ceccherini.
He has performed as a soloist and in chamber groups in repertoire ranging from baroque to modern and contemporary in various festivals including: “Sinfonia Vegetale” for Focus Live where he played Beethoven’s Pastorale for string sextet, “Notti Trasfigurate” and “Stadera Sound” in Milan, for “Aratea” in Bergamo, at the Museo Civico “Ala Ponzone”, at Palazzo Grasselli at the Ridotto of Teatro Ponchielli and at the Violin Museum in Cremona, “Festa del Violoncello” in Conzano, “CelloFest” for Lecco Classica, in San Fedele in Milan with the solo from Rutter’s Requiem and in Ochsenhausen as first cello in Klengel’s Hymnus.
He is a student of the Fondazione Accademia di Musica.
