Andrea Castellani, born in Turin in 2006, began studying the cello at the age of four at the Suzuki Talent Center Academy in Turin under the guidance of Maestro Liviana Pittau. At the age of ten, he obtained his Suzuki diploma with top marks, and the following year, he began his advanced training at the same academy with Maestro Marco Mosca.
In 2017 and 2019, he participated in the Young Performers Competition – City of Turin, winning the First Prize in the Cello category. In the 2019 edition, he also received the Special Prize for Best Talent and the Piedmont Regional Council Prize.
In 2020, he won the Absolute First Prize at the Gewa Young Contest Web.
Since 2022, he has been attending the First-Level Academic Course at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Turin, under the guidance of Maestro Marco Ferrari.
In 2024, he won First Prize at the Wally and Nerina Peroni Competition in Cuneo in the categories of “Violin and Cello” and “Soloists with Orchestra.” He has also attended advanced training courses with Maestros Enrico Dindo, Miriam Prandi, and Giovanni Gnocchi.
He is student of Fondazione Accademia di Musica ETS since 2025.
