Margherita Fratini
Biography

Born in Novi Ligure (Alessandria) on October 12th, 2000. Graduated at the Alessandria State Conservatory “A. Vivaldi”, where she obtained a first level academic diploma (Bachelor’s Degree) in violin with 110 cum laude. A pupil of Maestro Marcello Bianchi since the early years, she took part in various projects organized by the Conservatory, playing in various chamber ensembles – under the guidance of quartet musicians such as Aldo Campagnari and chamber musicians like Fernando Caida Greco – and in the Alexandrian symphony orchestra conducted by Maestro Marcello Rota. She takes part in Opera productions inside and outside the Conservatory as well, playing Operas by Donizetti, Bellini and Puccini (the ‘Gianni Schicchi’ at the Novara ‘Teatro Coccia’). Others ensambles (from large string ensembles to small chamber groups) have brought her closer to Baroque music, which she played on period instruments, thanks to the artistic direction of Baroque artists such as Maestro Bianchi and other musicians and professors of the Conservatory, including cellist Claudio Merlo and harpsichordist Daniela Demicheli.

Together with her studies at the Conservatory, she took part, both as a soloist and in duo with piano, in competitions such as the ‘F. Mendelssohn’ Festival (in the city of Alassio), where she won the first prize in 2015. She also attended masterclasses, meeting violinists such as Alessandro and Carlotta Conrado (baroque violinst the former), and Boris Belkin.

In 2019 she obtained the Classical Diploma at the “Giovanni Plana” High School in Alessandria with a 100/100.
