Trio Èkelon composed of Medeya Kalantarava on violin, Maria
Margherita Paci on cello and Gianmarco Tonelli on piano, was
formed in Rome in July 2023. He attended the Chamber Music
course at the Avos Project International School of Music in Rome,
under the guidance of masters such as Mario Montore, Alessio
Pianelli, David Romano, Luca Sanzò, Riccardo Savinelli and Mirei
Yamada. He is also specializing for the second consecutive year at
the Stauffer Academy in Cremona in the class of the Quartetto di
Cremona.
In October 2024, the Trio was admitted to the masterclass in
chamber music for piano and strings in the class of the Trio di
Parma at the Accademia musicale di Pinerolo. In addition to the
classes attended within the schools, the Trio improved through
numerous masterclasses held by internationally renowned
musicians, such as Simone Gramaglia (Cremona Quartet), Eyal
Kless (Israel Haydn Quartet), Riccardo Minasi, Francesco Pepicelli
(Trio Metamorphosi), Ivan Rabaglia (Parma Trio) and Kyril Zlotnikov
(Jerusalem Quartet). In August 2024 he attended a masterclass
with the Trio di Parma as part of the Portogruaro International Music
Festival.
Over the past year, the Trio has performed at concert festivals in the
alveo of important foundations, including Gioventù Musicale d’Italia,
Festival Civitanova Classica and RomaTre Orchestra. In October
2024, the Trio held a concert in collaboration with the prestigious Il
Circolo di Ave Festival at Palazzo Brancadoro in Fermo.
They have also been invited for concerts at institutions such as Link
University and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Concert
activity in the following months includes additional concerts
organized by the Fondazione Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, Amici del
Carlo Felice in Genova, the season of the Estate Musicale Frentana
in Lanciano, and a concert at the Lyceum in Firenze in collaboration
with the Accademia Stauffer.
In May 2024 it was selected by Maestro Simone Gramaglia to be
part of the “Le Dimore del Quartetto” network. Trio Èkelon has also
been selected by Maestro Simone Gramaglia in the shortlist of
ensembles that will perform at concert organizations of the AMUR
Committee for the next edition of Musica con Vista that will take
place between June and September 2025.
