Matilde Agosti
Biography

Matilde Agosti, born in Genoa in 1998, began studying the cello at the age of eight with her father, and then continued at the Conservatorio ‘N.Paganini’ in Genoa, where she graduated in
October 2016.
She has attended several Masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians international level such as M° Michael Flaksman at the International Music Masterclasses of  LuccaEstate2011′, M° Enrico Bronzi in Portogruaro, M° Antonio Meneses in Desenzano del Garda and with M° Giovanni Gnocchi in Gubbio in the summer of 2014. In autumn
2015 he attended a Masterclass with M°Lynn Harrell in Genoa, selected by the Giovine Orchestra Genovese.
He then attended the Accademia dei Musici di Parma in Salsomaggiore Terme and the Music Academy of Fiesole in Maestro Giovanni Gnocchi’s class. During the last academic year she
attended a Masterclass with Maestro Umberto Clerici at the Conservatory of Genoa and, in August 2016, she participated in the ‘Musicampus’ in Guardia Piemontese Terme (CS) with Maestro Roberto Trainini, whose class at the Conservatorio ‘C. Monteverdi’ in Bolzano was admitted in September 2016.
In December 2017, she made her debut as soloist with the Verdi Orchestra of Milan in the Auditorium Cariplo with Shostakovic’s Concerto No. 1 under the baton of M° Massimiliano Caldi. In October 2018, she played as soloist the Schumann Concerto op.129 with the Kodaly Philharmonic Orchestra Debrecen conducted by M° Somogyi- Toth in the Sala Verdi in Milan, which she then had the honour of playing also at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa with the Orchestra of her hometown in January 2019.
In May 2021, she was chosen for the extraordinary Masterclass organised by the Monteverdi Circle Online Centre for the Performing Arts with Maestro Steven Isserlis.
She has been in M° David Geringas’ class at the Accademia Chigiana for two years, and was directly selected by him for a scholarship donated by the Rotary Club of Siena in recognition of a deserving student of the course. She was selected in 2022 by the De Sono Association, for the second time, among the five most deserving cellists to participate in the annual Masterclass held by Maestro Stefano Guarino. In 2022, she participated in a special Masterclass at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona with renowned cellist Mischa Maisky. Since September 2021, she has been a student in Maestro Asier Polo’s class at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano.
